SONIQUE
(Dedicated To My Friend Nick Berg)

SONIQUE is a song that I wrote when I was living at 20 West Chestnut St. in West Chester, PA from 2001-2002. Nick lived upstairs from me and in fact, he took over my old upstairs apartment when I moved down to the 2nd floor. When my wife and I left for Chicago in 2002, we gave him our favorite orange "50's art deco" rocking chair. It's rather sad to come home one day and read on YAHOO! that a friend of yours has been murdered. This has never happened to me before.

By now, the whole world knows that Nick Berg was murdered by militants in Iraq. Here's some basic information for you from Wikipedia.

Nick and I used to work out together at the YMCA gym right on our block in West Chester. We both were serious powerlifters and we were the only ones big enough to spot each other!! Nick used to tell some pretty funny jokes and stories to me and fellow pal Nick Fillioe when we trained together. We always laughed our asses off at whatever crazy "upper-decker" story or news tidbit that Nick would bring up. We used to call him "Commando" because he would show up to his workouts donning cutoff Army fatigue shorts and these large, tan workboots!

He was a huge radio fan who absolutely LOVED "The Greaseman" (see previous picture of the Greaseman lifting weights!), Rush Limbaugh, and similar cutting-edge radio personalities. Hell, he even liked my music!!!

It's only fitting that I dedicate this song to him.

So I say to all of you that find this memoriam, "STAY TRUE TO YOU SOUL". Do what you are meant to do with your life and never give up on your hopes, ambitions, and dreams. "DO WHAT YOU LOVE" with PASSION, no matter what..............
